Combining very high output capability with exceptional sonic performance, coverage control and consistency, the XE500 is the ultimate, high SPL stage monitor. Its Coaxial Differential Dispersion drive unit comprises a powerful 15” (380mm) LF driver with a 3.5” (89mm) voice coil, and a 1.4” (35mm) exit HF compression driver with a 3” (75mm) pure titanium diaphragm. Both drivers feature powerful neodymium magnet structures to maximise performance and reduce weight.
The loudspeaker shall be a bi-amplified, two-way system ultilising Coaxial Differential Dispersion technology and shall be operated in conjunction with a dedicated controller amplifier.
Its transducers shall consist of a reflex-loaded 15” low frequency driver and a coaxially-mounted 1.4” exit high frequency compression driver loaded by a static waveguide that merges with moving waveguides added to the cone of the low frequency driver to define the HF horn geometry. A third static waveguide shall increase the effective size of the horn mouth.
Horizontal dispersion shall vary from 60° to 30° and vertical dispersion shall be 70°. The on-axis frequency response shall be 62Hz-18kHz +/- 3dB. The loudspeaker shall produce a maximum SPL of 143dB peak calculated at 1 metre. Power handling shall be 550W AES, 2200W peak. Rated impedance shall be LF: 4 ohms, HF: 8 ohms. Input connectors shall be NL4 type.
The enclosure shall be made from plywood and incorporate bar handles and threaded inserts. The drivers shall be protected by a perforated steel grille with scrim cloth backing.
Dimensions, including feet, (W x H x D) shall be 641mm x 367mm x 583mm (25.2in x 14.4in x 22.9in). Weight shall be 29kg (63.9lbs).
The loudspeaker shall be the Martin Audio XE500.
